Piano tuning Piano repair piano tuner New York piano tuner tuning repair technician Fender Rhodes Wurlitzer Steinway Digital Yamaha Kawai Roland Suzuki

Peter Favant

Piano and Keyboard Technician

Serving: Metropolitan New York, Western Long Island, and Lower Westchester County

Services Provided:

The majority of my piano service requests are for tuning, action restoration and regulation, and voicing.

The majority of my electronics service requests are for tuning and repair of electro-mechanical pianos; the Fender Rhodes and  Wurlitzer 200 electric piano, and repair of digital pianos.

On-site service:

Rhodes pianos may be tuned and voiced on site if in general good condition, but for any action modifications, amp repairs, etc. piano must be dropped off at my shop.  In general I prefer you drop your Rhodes off; I can do a more thorough job in my shop.

I do not do any form of on site tuning and repairs on Wurlitzer 200's; these must be dropped off at my shop.

Background:

I started tuning pianos in 1978 while a student at North Bennet St. school in Boston, MA.  Upon graduation I worked at Steinway and Sons factory in Long Island City, NY until starting my own piano restoration and tuning service.

The increasing number of digital pianos being used during the 1980's, and a longtime interest in electro-mechanical pianos and synthesizers prompted me to attend New York City Technical College for electronics in 1988.
